Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assist and motivation to enhancing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) companies throughout an engagement using the agency's senior professionals at a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled inside the 2024 matric examinations.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for that National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% from the registered pupils during the education and learning sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates the expenditure government is earning from the lives of poor and susceptible youngsters is yielding a beneficial influence in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe explained.
Reflecting on the latest achievements, the Minister highlighted crucial milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing the issue of everlasting Management appointments as well as lack of personnel at most nearby places of work.
Moreover, the Minister highlighted the need for Neighborhood-based engagements and outreach routines.
"Our Neighborhood is looking ahead to our huge intensification of Group outreach, where we prioritise underserved locations to deliver companies nearer to our people today," she reiterated.
